Fulton and Brewerton Speedway Community Mourns the Loss of Dave Medler
Baldwinsville, NY (April 7, 2026) - The Wight family, along with the staff and management of the Fulton and Brewerton Speedways, join the Northeast racing community in mourning the loss of long-time PR Director, Dave Medler, who passed away on Monday, April 6.
Dave is remembered fondly for his affable personality and was a fixture in his role at both tracks. He has been referred to as "one of the good guys" by many - a description that fits him perfectly. He spent his race nights in the pit area, greeting race teams with his giant smile welcoming them to the track. It didn't matter if the team was making its first visit or were track regulars, Dave was a welcoming face to all.
He was a true race fan. When not working at the tracks, Dave would be open to racing road trips or visits to other local tracks such as Weedsport, Land of Legends and the now defunct Rolling Wheels Raceway. Super DIRT Week at the Moody Mile and the Outlaw 200 at Fulton were two of his favorite events. Prior to his role at Brewerton and Fulton, he contributed as a columnist for Gater Racing News for the Patrick Family.
Dave was an avid New York Jets fan and we are sure he found comfort in his beloved Michigan Wolverines capturing the NCAA Basketball Championship on the day of his passing.
So, we take this moment to reflect on our relationship with Dave, and all he meant to what we do every weekend all summer, his passion for the sport and his high standing as a co-worker and friend. We will miss you, Buddy.
