Trenca Offers Condolences Following Accident at Canandaigua

Inside Line Promotions – CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (Aug. 12, 2014) – Last weekend’s results are of little significance to Joe Trenca and the Mucci Motorsports team.

“I want to offer my condolences to both families involved in the accident at Canandaigua,” Trenca said. “My prayers go out to both families at this difficult time.”

Trenca, who had advanced from eighth to fifth place during his heat race earlier in the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints event at Canandaigua Motorsports Park last Saturday, exited the track early in the main event because of electrical issues. He was credited with a 22nd-place finish.

“We were up to 12th early and then the MSD box went out when we were under caution,” he said. “I couldn’t get it refired. I tried to fire again and it wouldn’t go so I had to pull into the pits around Lap 4.”

Trenca also raced on Friday with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints at Ohsweken Speedway in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada. He maneuvered from sixth to fourth place during his heat race, which earned him a spot in the redraw.

After pulling the No. 7, Trenca started the 25-lap feature on the inside of the fourth row.

“We were set up to run the bottom,” he said. “On the start I went to the bottom and a bunch got by us. We got going and then the bottom blew off so we went to the top. We were good. We were just in dirty air whole time.”

Trenca finished with a 14th-place result.

He is scheduled to compete this Friday at Brewerton Speedway in Brewerton, N.Y., with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints.
