King’s Smash’em Crash’em Mini Van Derby rules

1)  All entrants must be 18 years of age.  Minors who are 15-17 years old are permitted to participate but must have a parent or guardian's signature on a minor release form.

2)  No intoxicating beverages or drugs will be allowed or tolerated.  Unsportsmanlike conduct will be automatic cause of disqualification.

3)  Demo Derby officials reserve the right to disqualify anyone who is unfit for competition or whose van does not comply with rules.  Rules will be enforced at all times.  Vans will be checked before and after each feature.

4)  Any mini van 4 & 6 Cylinders may be used.

5)  All wheel drives and 4 wheel drives must be converted to 2 wheel drive.

6) Roll bars are not permitted. A 4-way cage can be used with a bar near the dashboard and a bar behind the driver’s seat welded to the sides of the van. Plates no larger than 6x6 can be used. Side bars will be welded or bolted from the front bar to the rear bar only. Side bars will not be connected to the van in any way. Nothing will be connected to the frame in anyway. Spreader bar behind driver’s seat may still be used.

7)  No sandbagging, No intentional drivers door hits.

8)  All glass, seats, and upholstery must be removed, including chrome, pot metal, lights, and carpet.

9)  Battery must be removed and put inside and well covered & secured.

10)  No welding the bumper to the body.

11)  Doors may be welded (3” on 3” off), chained, wired, or banded. Driver’s door may be welded solid.

12)  No reinforcing the frame.

13)  Any size 4 or 6 ply tires can be used.  Cannot use any material for loading tires.  No studs or screws to hold the tire to the rim.

14)  Must have seat belts and wear a helmet.

15)  Dog house cover must remain over the engine inside the van.

16)  Trailer hitches must be removed.

17)  Hood may be chained, wired, or banded in 4 places.  No bolts or welding the hood. Must have a hole in Hood.

18)   Van may have at least one bar attached to middle of the windshield area to prevent hood from coming in.

19) Drivers have one minute to hit another active van.

20) Gas tank must be removed and put inside and well covered & secured.
