DIRT Modified feature winner Billy Decker |
BREWERTON, NY...Billy Decker came
out as the winner of the wild 35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified
feature race last Friday at Brewerton Speedway. Decker was able
to work his way up through the field from the 13th starting
position to earn the victory in the Gypsum Wholesalers ride. The
victory for the John Wight owned team was worth $2,000.
Tim Sears raced out to the
early lead at the start of the DIRT Big Block Modified main
event from the pole starting position. Sears would lead the
opening seven circuits. On lap eight Tim Fuller took the top
spot away from Sears. Fuller held the lead until lap nine when
he was forced to head into the pit area. Steve Hulsizer
inherited the lead on the lap-10 restart.
Hulsizer was running strong
leading the talented Brewerton field through lap-24. At that
time Decker was able to slip past for the top spot. Once in
front Decker never looked back and went on to victory lane.
Hulsizer held on for a strong second place finish. Pat Ward
drove another steady race to finish third. Alan Johnson placed
fourth while Stewart Friesen finished a strong fifth in his
first start of the season at the D-shaped DIRT Demon.

Hill, Les Hubbard, Bill Anderson Jr. and Kevan Cook finished in
positions second through fifth respectively. Anderson Jr. led
the first four circuits. Hill led the field from lap four
through nine. Jeffries took command at the halfway stage and
went on to the popular victory.

victory in the 20-lap ESDCA Mod Lite feature event. Tim
Devendorf, Kevin Doll, Sterling Milller and Tod Simons chased
Williams across the finish line. Doll led the opening two laps
of the main event. Williams took the lead from Doll on lap
three. Devendorf worked into the top spot on lap seven in search
of his second straight victory. Williams came back to take the
lead on lap-10 and never gave it back.
