FULLER
WINS FIFTH OF THE SEASON AT BREWERTON SPEEDWAY ON SYRACUSE.COM NIGHT
BREWERTON, NY...Tim Fuller won his fifth
Brewerton Speedway 35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified feature race of the
season last Friday on Syracuse.com Night. It appeared that Matt Sheppard
had the field covered on this night, but Fuller came charging to the
lead after a lap-19 restart and was never challenged once in front. The
victory for the Edwards, N.Y. driver was worth $2,000.
Ryan Phelps raced out to the early lead
at the start of the Syracuse.com DIRT Big Block Modified feature race
from the pole starting position. Phelps would lead the opening four
circuits of the event. Sheppard took the top spot away from Phelps on
lap five. Once in front Sheppard was able to open up his lead while
several top competitors tried to work up in the talented field.
At the halfway mark Sheppard was being
followed in the top five by Phelps, Chuck Bower, Fuller and Pat Ward.
Jim Witko, Scott Prentice, Alan Johnson, Sean Beardsley and Gary Tomkins
raced in positions sixth through tenth respectively at the halfway mark.
What turned out to be the final caution period of the race came on
lap-19.
Fuller was flying on the restart and
passed both Bower and Phelps in one move to take over the second
position. Fuller then closed in on Sheppard and took command of the
field on lap-21. Once in front Fuller was never challenged and earned
the victory in the B&F General Machine ride. Ward and Johnson both
worked up to finish second and third respectively. Phelps and Sheppard
completed the top five feature finishers.
Les Hubbard won his first ever 20-lap
IMCA Modified feature race last Friday night. It was Hubbard's first
main event triumph in 25 seasons of competition. Hubbard took the top
spot away from Rich Riggs on lap four and then held off all challengers
to earn the popular victory.
Tim Devendorf won his third 20-lap Mod
Lite feature race of the 2005 season last Friday night. Doug Williams,
Dan Williams, Darren Forbes and Frank Doll Jr. completed the top five
feature finishers. Devendorf took the top spot away from Ray Donhauser
on lap-13 and held off Doug Williams in the closing laps for the
victory.
Daryl Carl won his first ever 15-lap
Four Cylinder Stock feature race at Brewerton Speedway last Friday. Glen
Erwin, Russell Erwin, Todd Williamson and Jeff Herbert completed the top
five feature finishers. Carl took the top spot away from Joey Delacruz
on lap four and would never give it back.
