LIAS ONLY FEATURE WINNER BEFORE RAIN SETTLES IN ON COCA-COLA NIGHT

 

BREWERTON, NY...Sean Lias earned a hard fought victory in the 20-lap IMCA Modified feature race last Friday at Brewerton Speedway. Lias would be the only winner on Coca-Cola Night as rain settled in and forced the cancellation of the remaining four feature events. The Mod Lite and Four Cylinder Stock feature races will be made up this Friday, July 15.
 

     The DIRT Big Block Modifieds will battle in twin 35-lap features on Friday, July 22. The Four Cylinder Enduro racers will have two feature races on Friday, July 29. Regular admission prices will be in effect for all three weeks. Adult admission is $12 and youngsters ages 10-14 will be charged only $5. All those nine years of age and under will be admitted free of charge.
 

     Brian Evenden led the first four laps of the Coca-Cola IMCA Modified feature. Mike Chilson took the top spot away from Evenden on lap five. Chilson dropped out of the event on lap eight while leading. At that time Johnny Hill claimed the top spot. In the closing laps Hill and Lias swapped the lead back and forth while racing in and out of lapped traffic.
 

     Lias won the battle at the end for the victory while Hill settled for second. Les Hubbard, Dale Caswell and Bill Anderson Sr. completed the top five feature finishers in the fast paced event that was only slowed for two minor caution periods.

The track is located on Route 11 in Brewerton, N.Y. and is easily located off of Interstate Route 81. Free parking and overnight camping is offered for every event.
