FULLER WINS FOURTH DIRT BIG BLOCK MODIFIED FEATURE OF THE SEASON
BREWERTON, NY...Tim Fuller won his
fourth 35-lap Brewerton Speedway DIRT Big Block Modified feature of
the season Friday at Brewerton Speedway. The victory for the driver
of the B&F General Machine DIRT Big Block Modified team was worth
$2,000. For the third straight week the show at the D-shaped DIRT
Demon was completed with rain surrounding the area.
Tim Sears raced out to the early
lead at the start of the DIRT Big Block Modified feature from the
outside pole starting position. After five laps Sears continued to
lead and was being followed in the top five by Scott Prentice, Gary
Tomkins, John Barker and Fuller. Sears would lead the opening nine
laps of the feature race.
Prentice took the top spot away
from Sears on lap-10. Prentice would lead the field through lap-13.
It was on lap-14 when Fuller powered by Prentice. Fuller wasted
little time in charging up from the 11th starting position. At the
halfway mark Fuller was being followed in the top five by Tomkins,
Billy Decker, Prentice and Matt Shepaprd.
Decker passed Tomkins for the
second position on lap-29 in search of his second straight victory.
Decker started to pressure Fuller for the lead, but a flat left rear
tire would stop his charge. Shepaprd inherited the second position
and started to look for a way past Fuller. Sheppard was never able
to sneak by as Fuller recorded the win. Tomkins, Alan Johnson who
recovered from an early pit stop and Vic Coffey completed the top
five feature finishers.
Matt Magner won his first Brewerton
Speedway 20-lap Dwarf Car / Modified Lite feature race Friday night.
Tim Devendorf, Mike Mattice, Joe Garafolo and John Behron completed
the top five feature finishers behind Magner. Magner appeared headed
to victory before Devendorf took the lead on lap-19. Magner charged
right back though to make a last lap pass for the victory. Behron
was the highest finishing traditional Dwarf Car.
Current IMCA Modified point leader
Johnny Hill won his sixth 20-lap main event Friday night. Bill
Anderson Sr., Bob Bradt, Dale Caswell and Rich Riggs finished in
positions second through fifth respectively. Hill passed George
Valenti for the feature lead at the halfway mark and would never
look back.
Darryl Carl won his third 15-lap
Four Cylinder Super Stock feature race Friday night. Chuck Powelczyk,
Lorrie Herbert, Russell Erwin and Jerry Curcie Sr. followed Carl
across the finish line. Carl passed Powelczyk for the feature win
with just two circuits remaining.
Coming up this Friday at Brewerton
Speedway will be a big show with the ARDC Midgets joining the DIRT
Big Block Modifieds, IMCA Modifieds, Dwarf Cars / Mod Lites and Four
