FULLER RIDES CUSHION ON THE WAY TO VICTORY ON HOFMANN HOT HAUS NIGHT

BREWERTON, NY...Tim Fuller claimed his third Brewerton Speedway 35-lap DIRT Big Block Modified feature win of the season Friday on Hofmann Hot Haus Night. Fuller used the top side of the track to his advantage to take the top spot away from Matt Sheppard on lap-19. Once in front the driver of the B&F General Machine DIRT Big Block Modified never slowed on the way to the $2,000 payoff.

Jeff Isabell raced out to the early lead at the start of the Hofmann Hot Haus DIRT Big Block Modified feature from the outside pole starting position. After five circuits Isabell continued to lead and was being followed in the top five by Mike Prentice, Ryan Phelps, Scott Prentice and Matt Sheppard. On lap six Phelps took the top spot away from Isabell.

Phelps would lead the talented Brewerton Speedway DIRT Big Block Modified field through lap-14. The following circuit found Sheppard leading the way. At the halfway mark Sheppard was being chased in the top five by Fuller, Phelps, Vic Coffey and Alan Johnson. Gary Tomkins, Chuck Hebing, Chuck Bower, Pat Ward and Isabell raced in positions sixth through tenth at the halfway mark.

Fuller was on the move during this stage of the race as he used the top side of the track to his advantage. At times he hit the cushion a bit too hard, sending his car on two wheels. Everytime he was able to regain his momentum and he actually took the top spot away from Sheppard on lap-19. Traffic played a key role in the later portion of the event with four drivers contesting for the win.

Fuller was able to hold off all the challenges for the victory in the wildest feature of the season at the D-shaped DIRT Demon. Second year Modified driver Ryan Phelps drove a great race to finish second. Johnson, the defending track champion, worked up to third at the finish. Sheppard and Coffey completed the top five feature finishers.

Dale Caswell won his second IMCA Modified 20-lap feature of the season Friday night. Johnny Hill, Sean Lias, Bill Anderson Jr. and Pat Pontello finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Caswell passed Lias on lap-11 for the lead which he would never give back.

Don Fenner claimed his second feature victory of the season in the 20-lap Dwarf Car / Mod Lite main event. Mike Isabell, Frank Doll Jr., Bob Garafolo and Dan Williams finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Fenner took the lead away from Matt Magner on lap-16 and he would lead the rest of the distance for the win. Doll was the highest finishing traditional Dwarf Car.

Chuck Powelczyk became another two-time feature winner this season at the D-shaped DIRT Demon after his triumph in the 15-lap Four Cylinder Super Stock feature. Powelczyk led the entire 15-lap distance in the wild event.

Action will continue this Friday at Brewerton Speedway with the DIRT Big Block Modifieds, IMCA Modifieds, Dwarf Cars, Four Cylinder Super Stocks and the Four Cylinder Enduro racers all in competition. A special Paper Bag Race will also be contested. Race time is set for 7:30 p.m. For more information please call the track office at 315-668-6906.
