WARD RETURNS TO BREWERTON WINNERS CIRCLE ON
SYRACUSE.COM NIGHT
BREWERTON, NY...Pat Ward returned to the
winners circle at Brewerton Speedway last
Friday on Syracuse.com Night. Ward took the
lead away from Vic Coffey on lap 10 of the
35-lap main event. In the late going Ward
held off the late race challenge of both
Alan Johnson and Tim Fuller to earn the win.
The victory for the Gypsum Express DIRT
Modified team was worth $2,000. It was the
first win for Ward at Brewerton since August
18, 2000.
Tim Sears jumped out to the early lead
at the start of the Syracuse.com DIRT
Modified main event. After five laps Sears
was being followed in the top five by
Jeremie Corcoran, Vic Coffey, Pat Ward and
Craig Terrell. Sears led the opening eight
laps of the feature race over the talent
heavy field. Coffey took the top spot away
from Sears on lap nine. Coffey was in search
of his first ever Brewerton Speedway DIRT
Big Block Modified feature win.
Ward took the lead away from Coffey on
lap-10. Ward wasted no time in charging to
the front from the 11th starting position.
At the halfway point Ward continued to lead
and was being chased in the top five by
Coffey, Alan Johnson, Gary Tomkins and Tim
Fuller. Johnson and Fuller passed Coffey on
lap 23 and the duo quickly closed in on
Ward.
A three car battle for the win was now
in store during the closing laps. On one
occasion Ward and Johnson touched racing
down the front stretch. Both drivers were
able to keep control and Ward went on to his
first feature win at Brewerton Speedway in
four seasons. Johnson had to settle for
second with Fuller, Tomkins and Decker
completing the top five. Coffey, Chuck
Bower, Ryan Phelps, Jeremie Corcoran and
Jeff Isabell finished in positions sixth
through tenth respectively.

Modified feature of the season last Friday
night. Bill Anderson Sr., Les Hubbard, Rich
Riggs and Dale Caswell followed Chilson
across the finish line. Chilson led the
entire 20-lap feature from the third staring
position.

20-lap Dwarf Car / Mod Lite main event. Matt
Magner, John Behron, Doug Williams and Mark
Cooper followed Forbes across the finish
line. Forbes took the lead away from Magner
on lap 12 and he led the rest of the
