TIM MCCREADIE WINS SECOND STRAIGHT ON COORS LIGHT NIGHT
BREWERTON,
NY…Tim McCreadie won his second straight DIRT Big Block Modified
feature at Brewerton Speedway last Friday on Coors Light Night. The
second-generation driver won in another tight battle, this week over
Alan Johnson. Johnson made his patented late race charge, but had to
settle for the runner-up position. The victory for the Sweetner’s Plus
DIRT Modified team was worth $1,700.
Chuck Hebing jumped out to the
early lead at the start of the 35-lap Coors Light DIRT Modified feature
from the outside pole starting position. Hebing set a fast pace from the
start and after five circuits he was being followed in the top five by
Craig Terrell, Frankie Caprara, Tim McCreadie and Mike Prentice. Hebing
had built a big lead, but that was lost when Jim Burke brought out the
first and only caution period of the event.
Hebing was able to hold off
Tim McCreadie for several laps, but the lead changed hands on lap 19
when McCreadie slipped past Hebing. Alan Johnson moved into the second
position one circuit later and the battle for the victory was on. The
talented duo ran in and out of lapped traffic in the closing laps with
the large crowd in attendance on their feet in anticipation of another
classic Brewerton finish.
Johnson attempted to
move around McCreadie during the final three circuits, but was unable to
complete the move. Tim McCreadie claimed the victory by a half a car
length ahead of Johnson. Billy Decker, Tim Fuller and Bob McCreadie
completed the top five feature finishers in the high quality field.
Sean Lias was the race winner
in the Dean Hubbs Memorial IMCA Modified feature race. It was the sixth
feature win of the season for Lias. George Valenti, Billy Dunn, Pat
Pontello and Bob Bradt crossed the finish line in positions second
through fifth respectively. Lias took the lead away from Valenti on lap
14 and led the rest of the distance in the 20-lap main event.
John Behron won his third
Dwarf Car feature race of the season last Friday night. Mark Cooper, Dan
Boyce, Darren Forbes and Shawn Hort completed the top five feature
finishers behind Behron. On lap seven Behron took the top spot away from
Boyce and he would lead the rest of the distance in the 20-lap affair.
Rick Angle won his first
ever Four Cylinder Stock feature at Brewerton Speedway last Friday
night. Darrick Van Epps, Doug Farnsworth, Lorrie Herbert and Walt Van
Epps completed the top five feature finishers behind Angle. On lap seven
Angle passed Darrick Van Epps for the lead, which he would never give
back.
Terry Engerbretsen was the
winner of the Four Cylinder Enduro feature. Mitch Pietrowicz, Troy
Engerbretsen, Chad Guthrie and Robert Ramsey finished in positions
second through fifth respectively.
Racing will continue this
Friday at Brewerton Speedway with the DIRT Big Block Modifieds, IMCA
Modifieds, Dwarf Cars and Four Cylinder Stocks all in action plus the
Atlantic Coast Old Timers Club and Ladies Races. Action will start at
7:30 p.m. For more information please call the track office at
