HENRY TOP WINNER IN ACTION PACKED SHOW AT BREWERTON SPEEDWAY

BREWERTON, NY…Bob Henry Jr. was the big winner in an action packed show recently at Brewerton Speedway. Other winners included Phil Marsden, Tod Simons, Mark Warner, Mitch Pietrowicz, Dan Boyce, Jeff Herbert, Buddy Grant and Chad Martin. The 2002 season at Brewerton Speedway will conclude on Thursday, October 10 with a 100-lap Super DIRT Series Race for the 358 Modifieds.

     Bob Henry Jr. executed a pass of Tom Sears Jr. with just two laps to go to claim the win in the 50-lap Sportsman Super DIRT Series Race. Randy Chrysler led in the early going Tom Sears took the top spot away. It appeared that Sears was on his way to victory, but Henry had a different plan. With four laps to go Henry made a sweeping move around Sears to take command of the top spot.

     Sears came right back though and was the official race leader with three laps remaining. It was Henry’s turn to come back this time and with two laps to go he was able to hold on for the $1,000 payday. Sears had to settle for second. Chrysler, Tim Sears and Scott George completed the top five feature finishers. A total of 55 DIRT Sportsman cars attempted to qualify for the main event.

     Phil Marsden beat out a strong field of 39 Pure Stocks at the D-shaped DIRT Demon. Russ Marsden, Paul Mercier, Bill Flask and Nathan Peckham completed the top five feature finishers in the very competitive race.

     Tod Simons returned to the Brewerton Speedway winners’ circle at the conclusion of the Dwarf Car main event. Scott Nash, Kevin Doll, Steve Miller and Bob Garafolo crossed the finish line in positions second through fifth respectively. Dan Boyce won the rain delayed Dwarf Car main event. Bob Garafolo, Tim Burdick, Steve Miller and Mark Cooper completed the top five.

     Mark Warner claimed the win in the Four Cylinder Stock main event. Brian Evenden, Ed Janaskie, Doug Chappius and Walt Van Epps completed the top five feature finishers behind Warner. Jeff Herbert won the rain delayed Four Cylinder Stock main event. Warner, Chuck Powelczyk, Evenden and Roger West followed in the top five.

     Mitch Pietrowicz was the winner of the 26-car Four Cylinder Enduro. Matt Parker, Chad Guthrie, Rodney Weaver and R.J. Hoag followed Pietrowicz. Buddy Grant was the winner of the rain delayed 43-car Four Cylinder Enduro. Rodney Buskey, Ray Woolson, Dale Caswell and Craig Dingy completed the top five.

     Chad Martin earned $2,000 for his Demolition Derby wins. A total of 34 competitors took part in the smash and crash festival.

     The 2002 season at Brewerton Speedway will conclude on Thursday, October 10. The JE Pistons 100-lap Turning Stone Casino 358 Modified Super DIRT Series Race will highlight the night. Dwarf Cars will also be in action.
