BREWERTON, NY - August 30, 2016 - Start your Labor Day weekend at the Brewerton Speedway Friday, September 2 when the best 360 Sprint Car drivers in the Northeast will converge to do battle on the ‘D-Shaped Dirt Demon.’ Track Championships will be decided in tight point battles in the Big Block Modifieds, Sportsman and Mod Lites
presented by Schneider Packaging Equipment Company & McDonald’s Restaurants®.
The 2016 A-Verdi Storage Containers 360 Sprint Car Series will finish in a big way this Friday. The three premiere methanol-breathing, clay-slinging, winged warriors 360 Sprint Car tours in the Northeast, Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, United Racing Club and Patriot Sprint Tour will do battle on the ‘D-Shaped Dirt Demon’ for bragging rights for their tour.
The action doesn’t stop with the Sprint Cars as the intensity level will be turned up to high when three track champions will be crowned as weekly exciting point racing comes to an end.
In the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds a single point is the difference between Jimmy Phelps in his J&B Installations/HBR/No.98H and Larry Wight behind the wheel of his Gypsum Express/LJL Racing/No.99L. With the Brewerton Speedway having the reputation of one of the toughest speedways anywhere to win a feature, there will be a hungry and talented field of big block modified drivers looking for a victory going into the off-season.
Sixty-two drivers attempted to qualify this season with the final points race coming down to three drivers to decide the 2016 SUNY Canton Sportsman track championship. Only 13 points separate Ron Davis III, Tony Finch II and Glenn Forward. When you combine the Brewerton Speedway and the Sportsman division anything can and usually does happen.
The high flying Firehouse Subs Mod Lites will see a first time champion crowned. After a season of tough weekly wars it’s now between Jeff Sykes and Jim Bogett. If you’re seeing the division for the first time, don’t let their size fool you as they are very sophisticated and fast race cars.
Adult grandstand admission is $20 with everyone 18 years old and younger free, pits $35. Gates open at 5:30 with racing at 7:30.
