BREWERTON, NY – June 29, 2016 –  Rocky Warner made the long tow from Gloversville, NY pay off Wednesday night at the Brewerton Speedway when he picked up the $1,000 to-win trip to victory lane. More importantly he picked up a valuable guaranteed starting spot for the lucrative Industrial Tire of CNY Sportsman Shootout Championship during the 31st Annual Outlaw 200 Weekend on September 30 & October 1 at the Fulton Speedway.

“It’s really huge, there are a lot of cars in that race. I know it sounds a little goofy but to have that in your back pocket means a lot,” said Rocky Warner about having the guaranteed starting spot secured at the Outlaw 200 weekend.

Thirty-three Sportsman signed in the pits that took four heats and consolations to set the starting field for the 30 lap feature.

Todd Root would jump out to the early lead setting a quick pace using the top of the speedway as the racing behind him was hot and heavy fighting for positions.

With 5 laps complete Root held about a five car advantage over Glenn Forward who tried to close the gap running the bottom groove of the speedway. Stephen Denton, Tyler Trump and Dave Marcuccilli showed in the top five in the early going.

On a lap 8 restart Rocky Warner would go from fourth to second and would start a bumper to bumper and side by side battle with Root until a caution just before halfway that would change the race. On a lap 13 restart Warner would get by Root to be scored the new leader.

Once out front the closest anyone got to Warner was under cautions as he cruised to the win. Behind Warner the rest of the top five was in doubt with great racing right down the checkers. Todd Root, Tyler Trump, Dave Marcuccilli and Corey Barker finished second through fifth.

“This car we call old faithful we raced the last year, I don’t know why Jake (Spraker) wants to sell it. When it gets slick this thing loves it,” Warner said talking about his Jake Spraker Used Cars/No.1J that carried him to the win.

This Friday, July 1 Scott Jeffery’s Performance Plus will present a full night of fast, affordable, family fun racing. On the exciting race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Firehouse Subs Mod Lites, JB Logging & Firewood Four Cylinders plus night one of the NY6A 600 Micro Sprints Speedweek.

Adult admission on July 1 is $15 with everyone 18 years old and younger free, pits are $27. Grandstands open at 5:30 with racing at 7:30.
