Brewerton Speedway ‘Pink Out – Cancer Sucks’ This Friday, September 4 In Honor Of Chris Sorensen Schneider

By Dave Medler - BREWERTON, NY – September 3, 2015 – ‘Cancer Sucks.’  Cancer seems to effect all of us in one way or another if it’s ourselves, family or friends. This week it has hit the local racing community when we lost Chris Sorensen Schneider.

Chris wouldn’t want any of us to sit back and be sad, but rather go out and live. One of the ways to do that is for all of us going to the Brewerton Speedway this Friday, September 4th to wear pink as part of our ‘Pink Out’ to raise awareness  for breast cancer and continue the fight Chris started, to honor her life.

Chris will be remembered as a loving wife to Robert, mother to Laura (Matt Hulsizer), Julie (Joe August Jr.) and Beth (Rob Bellinger), grandmother and awesome friend to so many.
One of her great joys was going to the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways to watch family race and to see the Thompson Road Tavern logo on so many cars her family helped over the years.

Chris’s daughter Julie August has a page for ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’. Here is Julie’s page to learn more and donate if you so choose. . There is also the Team Thompson Road Tavern that can be found at

When you come in the gates Friday, September 4th look for the Carol M Baldwin Breast Cancer Research of CNY display. There you will be able to talk to people about the strides being made in the fight and donate to Julie August’s ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ and other ways we can help combat this terrible disease.

On the speedway Friday will be the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, Tracey Road Equipment Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman and Pro Race Cars Mod Lites. Adult grandstand admission is $20 with everyone 18 yrs. old and younger FREE. Pit admission is $35. Gates will open at 5:30 with racing at 7:30.
