Fast Paced Dirt Track Racing Returns To Brewerton Speedway This Friday, July 17
 
 

 By Dave Medler – BREWERTON, NY – July 15, 2015 – This Friday, July 17th Universal Metal Works will present a night of exciting dirt track racing at family, affordable prices where adult grandstand admission is just $12 with everyone 18yrs. old and younger is FREE.

On the race card will on Universal Metal Works/Shriners night will be the Tracey Road Equipment Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, Pro Race Cars Mod Lites and Hilton’s Automotive Four Cylinders.

A look back at July 10th racing - top-five divisional point standings.

Tracey Road Equipment Modifieds – In the 35-Lap feature Vinnie Vitale took the lead from Chuck Bower on Lap-7. Just when it looked like Vitale would cruise to the win, along came Matt Sheppard who fought from the 23rd starting position to the runner-up position on the 31st lap. Over the last 4-Laps Sheppard threw everything he had at Vitale, Vitale didn’t make a mistake taking the big win.

TOP-FIVE POINT STANDINGS – Matt Sheppard 432. Jimmy Phelps 428. Pat Ward 388. Billy Decker 386. Ryan Phelps 342.

SUNY Canton Sportsman – Once again the Sportsman put on an exciting feature that had the winner in doubt until the late going in the 25-Lap feature. After seeing James Carlson, Stephen Denton and Corey Barker lead the race it was four-time feature winner Jack Meeks who took the big victory.

TOP-FIVE POINT STANDINGS – Jack Meeks 415. Ron Davis III 413. Tony Finch 396.  Nick Krause 346.  Gregg Kimball 345.


Pro Race Cars Mod Lites – In the 20-Lap Feature Joe Isabell would take the lead on Lap-3 and looked to be heading to his 8th Brewerton Speedway win of the year. His brother Jeff Isabell Jr. , the hottest driver in the class recently had other ideas. After working over his brother for a number of laps he would drive into the lead late in the going for the feature win.

Hilton’s Automotive Four-Cylinders – After a week away from victory because of mechanical problems Chuck Powelczyk returned to the winners circle for the eighth time in 2015. Chris Bonoffski, Colby Herzog, Sam Curcie and Phil Burns chased the winner across the finish line.
