BREWERTON, NY - August 12, 2012 (By Dave Medler) - Based on the success of the July 18th SUNY Canton Sportsman Showdown at the Brewerton Speedway, and with the thoughts of entertaining a more aggressive Sportsman schedule in 2013, we are excited to announce Brewerton will be adding another Sportsman show on Friday night August 31. It is our final regular season event at the track and we feel it is a fitting way to end our regular season. The fan response to the last show was excellent and the support from the teams was overwhelming.
The exact details of the event are still being finalized, but we will continue the rules package we ran on July 18th. The winner of the event will earn a guaranteed spot in the Outlaw Weekend Sportsman event on Friday night September 28th at the Fulton Speedway, and additional spots are also likely to be awarded. Specific details will be released shortly.
Along with the Sportsman at Brewerton, track champions will be crowned in the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, Nationwide Insurance IMCA Modifieds, Beaver River Distribution Mod Lites and Anchor Bar & Grill Four Cylinder Super Stocks who will all be in action on that night.
And as an added bonus for the fans and racers the "NAPA Winners Clash" will also take place that night. This will be a race for all drivers who have won a Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature in 2012. To date this drivers already qualified are, Jimmy Phelps, Matt Sheppard, Billy Decker, Ryan Phelps, Larry Wight, Alan Johnson, Rob Bellinger, Willy Decker and Dan Vauter.
