NAPA Modified “Winners Classic” to further reward Modified Feature Winners at Brewerton

BREWERTON, NY, May 21, 2012 (By Dave Medler) – NAPA is once again stepping up in a big way for the Brewerton Speedway. On Friday, August 31, NAPA Auto Parts will present the “NAPA Winners Classic” – a race open only to Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified feature winners during the 2012 racing season. The event will be held on the final point night of the 2012 season on NAPA Season Championship night.

First place prize will be $1,000 cash plus additional awards to be announced. All drivers will get a share of the $3,500 posted purse. Specific qualifying and race format are still being finalized.

Cousins Ryan and Jimmy Phelps, Alan Johnson and most recently Willy Decker captured the first four feature events of the 2012 racing season and are now locked into the NAPA Winner’s Classic.  A dozen different feature winners gracing victory lane in 2011, indicating the NAPA Winner’s Classic will be a star studded event with plenty of entries.

“Winning a feature event at Brewerton Speedway is a daunting task and we wanted to further reward those that are able to pull it off,” said Aaron Smith, District Manager for NAPA Genuine Parts, “We are hopeful this will become an annual tradition at Brewerton.”
