Regular Season Finale Friday At Brewerton

BREWERTON, NY…The regular season finale at Brewerton Speedway is set for this Friday, September 3. The DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds will battle in a 50-lap $3,000 to win main event. The IMCA Modifieds, NAPA Late Models, Beaver River Distribution ESDCA Mod Lites and Four Cylinder Super Stocks will also be in action in the final point races for all classes this season. Everyone ages 18 and under will be admitted for free. Race time is set for 7:30 p.m.

Jimmy Phelps, with a six win season at the D-shaped Dirt Demon, has already claimed the 2010 Track Championship. Matt Sheppard, Billy Decker, Pat Ward, Ryan Phelps, Alan Johnson, Larry Wight, Jim Witko, Michael Storms, Chuck Bower, Willy Decker, Mike Bowman, Jason Rood, Mike Mahaney, Chad Phelps, Rich Scagliotta, Johnny Hill, Matt Fink and Tony Steiner complete the top 20 in the current standings. Last week 27 Big Blocks were in competition and another stellar field is expected this week for the regular season finale special.

Dale Caswell appears headed to the 2010 IMCA Modified Track Championship, but defending Track Champion Kevan Cook is only 11 points behind. In the NAPA Late Model class Caswell only has to start the main event to clinch the season championship. Gordy Button would have to win the main event and Caswell not start the race for that to happen.

By far the closest point race at the track is in the Beaver River Distribution ESDCA Mod Lite class. Tim Devendorf leads Joe Garafolo by just one point going into competition this Friday night after 17 point races. The stats for both drivers are remarkably close as the point differential proves. Chuck Powelczyk appears headed to another Four Cylinder Super Stock season title. He currently leads Stephen Denton by 44 points going into the season finale.

Brewerton Speedway gates on Friday, September 3 will open at 5:30 p.m. Race competition for the 2010 regular season finale will start at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission is $15 with everyone ages 18 and under admitted for free.
