BREWERTON, NY…Syracuse.com will present Family Autograph Night at Brewerton Speedway this Friday, August 13. In race competition at the D-shaped Dirt Demon will be the DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds Dig Safely NY Bonus Bucks event, IMCA Modifieds, NAPA Late Models, Beaver River Distribution ESDCA Mod Lites and Four Cylinder Super Stocks. Everyone ages 18 and under will be admitted for free. The great evening of family entertainment will start at 7:30 p.m.
At this time Jimmy Phelps appears to have a comfortable point lead in the DIRTcar Big Block Modified season point standings behind six feature race victories. Matt Sheppard, Billy Decker, Pat Ward, Ryan Phelps, Larry Wight, Alan Johnson, Jim Witko, Michael Storms, Willy Decker, Chuck Bower, Mike Bowman, Jason Rood, Chad Phelps and Mike Mahaney complete the top 15 in the talent rich season driver standings. World of Outlaws Late Model star Tim Fuller will also be in Big Block competition this Friday night.
Dale Caswell owns a slim six point lead in the IMCA Modified point standings ahead of defending champion Kevan Cook. Joe Garafolo, Tim Devendorf and Doug Williams are the top three in the Beaver River Distribution ESDCA Mod Lite rankings in a contest which should go down to the final point race on September 3. Caswell is also the point leader in the NAPA Late Model class with a 50 point cushion ahead of Gordy Button. Chuck Powelczyk appears headed to another Four Cylinder Super Stock championship season.
This Friday night will be the final Family Autograph Night of the season. At the conclusion of all the qualifying events all drivers and their cars will be invited out to the front stretch of the track. At that time fans of all ages will be allowed out to meet their favorite drivers, obtain autographs, take pictures and collect hand-outs from the race teams.
Brewerton Speedway gates on Friday, August 13 will open at 5:30 p.m. Race competition on Syracuse.com Night will start at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission is only $12 with everyone ages 18 and under admitted for free. The track is located at 60 U.S. Route 11 in Brewerton and is easily located off of Interstate Route 81.
